Christmas in 24 hours and 20 minutes

Current Status:
Well, I haven't updated much lately and I'm still notecharting a song and holding three or four notechart requests, as well as some RPG gameplay vids as well in YouTube. I'll try to finish all these as fast as I can before February 2012, which is the time that I'll be even more busier than before.

I still haven't added Qliphoth in My Notecharts page. If you want that, you can go to my video to get the chart download if you haven't yet. Like Myopic have said in the video comments, I really try to make charts for all kinds of people whether strong or weak. I've charted for like 3+ years and I know how it would feel for each kind of player. Please consider this and play the appropriate level that is suited for you. Practicing will allow you to do better in the future, regardless if it's successful or if it's a failure. Good luck to all Jammers and what-not.

The Medley of Pokémon O2 chart released

Well guys, we have finally finished The Medley of Pokémon chart. It's a little over 26 minutes long, so warmup is really necessary before playing this. Read the Resdme that is in the RAR file for some advice. You'll need it. Good luck ;)

Updates to the levels of my two O2 notecharts

Rohen might've already posted about this in the AngelJam November 2011 Update, but I'm just going to make sure by posting it here.

It made me wonder why Fentanest is overleveled and Blue Rain is underleveled. Those two HX charts' levels have been fixed. If you play in AngelJam, you only need the OJNList to correct it. However if you're playing them elsewhere, you must update the OJNs in the link below. Simply extract them into the Music folder and overwrite/update when prompted.

o2ma3053 (Fentanest) OJN
o2ma3055 (Blue Rain) OJN

And also you may wonder: "What's the purpose of the levels?"

Not only do they give you a hint of what you should expect in the chart, they also affect the amount of Experience Points given when you complete the song. Or at least that's what they say in the O2Jam Wikia page about Experience Point calculations.

My tips of pro-ness for making good and memorable charts

Not only do these tips apply to O2Jam, it can apply to other rhythm games like IIDX.

Why am I posting it here? One, someone awesome asked me. Two, I'm getting tired of seeing weird charts.

Alright, here they are:
1. Use headphones or speakers with loud bass. This is so that you can pick up even the slightest instruments to put notes for non-keysounded charts.
2. Pitch relevancy. For some instruments, higher-pitch notes are on the right while the lower-pitch should be on the left. A good example is the quick piano stream in Bang!Bang!Bang! HX chart. IIDX charts should also follow this rule, but don't be too strict with them.
3. Play around until you get unique patterns or patterns that match the song. Making them fun and more interesting than other charts makes it memorable, other than just the song alone.
4. Copy and paste is fine, but don't overdo it. If it tends to be repetitive, it's become easily boring. A good tip is to copy and paste, and then change the patterns a little. Good examples are in my Promise and Catastrophe in Bhava-agra ~ Wonderful Heaven charts. You'll notice the small difference between each chorus and repeated sections of the songs.
5. Make sure most of your chart has a constant difficulty level. If your chart has a sudden difficulty change, it's an instant fail. My recent chart, Enemy Storm (Dark Jungle Mix) was close to that point (probably due to the speed changes lol). Giving breaks in between is fine, but sometimes necessary for those ridiculous patterns. Examples of hard charts with breaks are Black Water and Little Hearts.
6. Playtest your chart. Watching it in autoplay is not good enough. Imagine the movement of the fingers when one plays your chart. Remember: The chart you make is not for yourself only.

Another important tip that is not in the list: Have fun :D

(Note: These tips are not completely failproof. Don't heavily rely on them. Use them if your charts are weak when compared to the official charts. In addition, these are the tips I can give based on my experiences with many charts and I do not deserve full credit for tip #2 and the one after #6.)

I'm gonna go out on a little trip to a fair

Last edit: 11 September 2011 (lol date)

I'm gonna take a short break from charting and stuff at the moment because in the next two days I'll be attending AniManGaki 2011. It's an anime fair filled... with anime. The event will start tomorrow (Saturday, 10 Sept 2011) at Sunway University for the whole day. They also have other interesting events such as a singing competition and a Hisoutensoku competition. More info can be found in the following FaceBook page:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=160513047352287

Also, do not find me. Do not go there just to see me and nothing else. Do not pass Sunway Pyramid. Do not pass "Go!". Do not collect $200.

Well, see you guys later. If I find anything interesting, I'll either post it in YouTube (if they allow it) or right here in my blog.

Quick edit: Unexpected slight change of plans, I'm only going on Saturday only. I'm not available on Sunday.

-----------

Alright guys, I've got some pictures from the event. No videos though. Note that the pictures you've seen here are all on the 10th of September. Sit back and relax while I enjoy my Chibi Marisa and Alice mug.

First off, the Sunway University Exhibition Hall!
Photobucket
This was taken about 1:40PM. Most of the souvenir shops are opened by now.

There were plenty of cosplays as well. In fact I saw five different version of Mikus, two Rins, Sora (from the KH series), Snake(?) (from MGS3), and the entire Scarlet Devil Mansion crew...except that there were two Meilings (one of them is a guy) and a MALE SAKUYA (it was really wrong there). Here are the pictures of the cosplays. I only took two though lol

The first is Gumi and Rin.
Photobucket

Behold! The princess of the Scarlet Devil Mansion! (Awesome spear btw)
Photobucket

Behind of where I took the first picture were some awesome figurines. Here they are.
Photobucket
Photobucket

There were other rooms worth visiting as well. There were even more figurines in the Trading Card Shop.
Photobucket

There's also a Game Room where they have three PS3s and they have held a BlazBlue competition.
Photobucket

And finally there is the Touhou Corner where EVERYTHING in that room is all about Touhou. (lol @ below pic)
Photobucket

I spent about half the day there, probably because a Touhou game takes a looooong time once it has already started. If I were there the following day I would be able to watch the Touhou Hisoutensoku competition.
Photobucket

Wriggle didn't like to be squished in Stage 1 of Imperishable Night, so she (it's a he) tries to get revenge by playing Hisoutensoku.
Photobucket

On the other side of the room, there's a computer which you can play Touhou on it FOR FREE.

Below is a picture of a guy playing the Extra stage in Imperishable Night (and clears it).
Photobucket

And two guys playing PoFV. One uses the keyboard while the other uses the gamepad, just like what I did with my friend.
Photobucket

In fact I 1cc'd on that computer TWICE in a row (one on MoF, one on SA). You can find plenty of MoF, SA, and PoFV replays on that computer. If you own that computer, you got proof that I was there lol

On the next side of the room, there were more figurines and dolls. I'd buy one but either they are too expensive or they aren't on sale :(
Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket

Well, I guess this wraps up the day. I'm definitely looking forward to the next year's event :)

Another new chart + What I hate frequently

I've got a new chart to add to the list. Enjoy.

o2ma3057 - Enemy Storm (Dark Jungle Mix)
Composer: Croove ft. Paul Bazooka
Genre: Techno
Image: Krustycrab
Description: Awesome remix of Enemy Storm by Paul Bazooka. Also can be played in DJMax Portable 3.
Comment: The notes won't kill you... if there weren't any BPM changes in the first place :p Non-keysounded.
Time: 2:02
Level: 9/25/42
Notes: 461/1271/2103
BPM: 170.00
BPM Bumps/Gimmicks: Plenty enough to be lethal, so watch out.
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?lap6lqd3a809061
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06n9gvwK34o

At the same time, I've got something to talk about. I've been sending out a few PMs and certain messages in various forums and YouTube. There is one thing I hate about that: No reply received from the sender. I'm not sure if you agree but it ticks me off the longest of all I hate. I don't understand why people would not respond to the messages I've sent. I'm not an idiot who sends simple messages like "Hi guys watch dis pls" and then walks off. I send messages whenever I have requests of sorts politely. If I receive replies that reject my request, that is fine. But if I don't receive anything at all, it's obviously gone wrong. It's like a team project where you've completed your part but your partners didn't attend to help complete it. I really don't understand it. If you don't like my request, then all you have to do is just say "no" and we can just walk away peacefully. What's wrong with that? Why can't you just give me a note of sort? It'll make things way easier if you don't want the other end to look for and annoy you. Believe me, it'll be better for everyone.

Switching to a modern computer

Last edit: 6 August 2011

In about one or two weeks, I'm going to stop using this piece of scrap metal I'm typing with right now with a brand new one. It's in Windows 7 OS which means I may have to use the BMSe elsewhere...

Here are the detailed specs that were mentioned on the flyer:
Acer Aspire M3410
- AMD Phenom II x6 1065T Processor
(2.9 GHz, 3M Cache)
- 4GB DDR3 RAM / 1TB HDD
- ATI Radeon HD6570 (1GB DDR3)
- DVD SuperMulti Drive
- Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
- Wireless keyboard & mouse
Price: RM1,969.00

NOW I CAN ENJOY MY TOUHOU WITH NO SLOWDOWN

Computer switch complete. The BMSe is working as well so I can continue charting.
Well, I should try out other games I wasn't able to play before. Feel free to recommend me some of 'em :)

About those requests...

Remember that I previously said that I will be doing those notechart requests? After some thought, I'm afraid I'll have to reject them because I have no longer interest in them. Maybe someday though when I feel like it, I'll probably resume those requests. Sorry to those who have requested the three others that I have not completed. If you're really curious, you may ask about those requests.

In future requests, I will only accept those that has caught my attention and that I'm interested in. It's very hard to explain what I accept, so you may want to put more than one song if you like. Also if you have more than one chart request, be sure not to put more than four songs so that I will not be crammed with too many songs to decide at once.

Right now I'm going to work on something else. I'm not sure when I'll finish it, but I'll try to as fast as I can. Thank you for understanding.

Late O2Jam Notechart List Update

The chart U.N. Owen was Keyboard Crasher was released sometime back and I couldn't add it to the list until now. I've also changed a few other things in the list. Enjoy!

I'll try to finish the next chart within two weeks. That is all.

Trying Out New Things + Two New O2Jam Charts

I want to share something random or you guys may think I'm gone or something LOL

Anyway, there were recently lots of new stuff coming out recently and I'm gonna try them out. No, that does not mean that I'm stopping my work on the O2Jam charts. I am still working on those requests, but progress is slow because the requested songs are like over 4 minutes long.

Recently, the new Touhou 13 Demo was released so I downloaded it and tried it out. It was easy as compared to the previous Touhou games because there are less bullets than your average "Normal" and the new Trance system. If you want to know more about it, just search for some videos in YouTube and you'll understand.

There's also the new Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (PSP) that came out not too long ago. It's probably one of the best action games to play on the PSP. In that game, you hunt the monsters (as the name applies), carve monster parts out of them, use those parts to make new equipment (very important), and then go hunt even tougher monsters. If you played the previous Monster Hunter games, you will notice many new features such as the Heavy Bowgun's "Siege Mode" and Fatigue System for Monsters (they don't get tired in older Monster Hunter games). To explain even further how awesome this game can be, just search in YouTube or something.

I could explain more but that would take me like months to finish this post :p
Well, time to wrap up with two nice keysounded O2 charts I made recently. Enjoy!

Back In Action

Alright guys, I just finished my recent term exams and for now I'll be able to continue charting... Well that's about it I guess...

Actually, there is one thing I should share. Along with working for five requests, I also have three unfinished keysounded charts in my desktop, so I'd thought I finish them first before working on something else. What is it you ask? You'll wait and see. I can only tell you that it's not gonna be "just another ordinary chart".

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Will be busy for the next few days...

As my final exams draws to a close, I can only tell you that I will be away for now. That means I will have to completely pause my work on the charts I'm working on and I have to focus on studying hard for the exams.

And for the requested charts, one of the songs I was about to chart was Magnet (by Miku and Luka). But since someone decided to step up and charted it, I decided to replace that request with another I should have done almost half a year ago. This will remain a mystery for everyone until further notice.

Well, that's all for now. Till next time...

EDIT: While waiting for me, you can check out and download my Touhou 12.9 BCA game HERE. (download links in description)

I've edited my previous page as well just in case.

Added "My Notecharts" Page

I'm just starting to get the hang of using this blog. Turns out I can just make a separate page to show my charts without having to repost the entire list every time :p

Anyways from now on you can find the chart list to the right of this page, labelled "My Notecharts". Any future updates to the list will be posted in that page.

I recently got the BMS converters to work, thanks to the producer of enojn2, Mikael for uploading it, and Ruby for giving me a hint to make it work properly. Anyway, here's one of the five charts I've been suggested. Shall I call these five charts the "Request 5"?

What'cha doing next?

In the past few days I've been suggested and/or requested to chart some songs. In the list there are five new songs I would like to try charting. Most of them are above four minutes so it's gonna take a while. Want a clue what the songs are?

Three songs in the list are VOCALOID songs while one of them is yet another Angry German Kid remix. The last one is something I'll keep a secret for a while. When the time comes I'll reveal it in YouTube. Till then...

(And for those wandering, I'm also working on Touhou 12.9 as well but only part-time LOL)

What's this Touhou 12.9 - Brain Cell Annihilation about?

LAST EDIT: 26 Feb, 2011

If you've seen this video, then you're definitely reading the right post where I explain what the f*** is this about.

For the past few months I've been working on a side project called "Touhou 12.9 - Brain Cell Annihilation". This was inspired by some joke, bad, weird, hilarious, or crappy games posted in some RPG Maker forums. Please take note that it was meant to be funny, wrong (in dialogue and mapping), and challenging at the same time. Never played Touhou? Don't play this then.

Touhou 12.9 is an unofficial joke game I made up out of nowhere with RPG Maker VX. I made this up after knowing there was a 12.8th Touhou game (Great Fairy Wars) along with 12.3rd and 12.5th ones as well. Since the next one WILL be the 13th one, I thought I could just come up something crazy while other people could try to guess if there's yet another Touhou game before the 13th.

In every Touhou game, you're given the choice to select the difficulty before starting the game. If you've played Touhou before, you should know the four common difficulties. However in Touhou 12.9, each difficulty contains a different part of the story and are divided into chapters. (Easy is Chapter 1, Normal is Chapter 2, and so on) And unlike the original Touhou series, each difficulty/chapter has its own levels, enemies, bosses, and secrets. Also, like the original series, each difficulty has six stages, and in each stage having a boss. (And in some cases there are mini-bosses as well) Not only do you need to find the strategy to beat the boss, but you also need to grind your party members' level and get the appropriate equipment and/or item(s). The only good thing here is that you get to save your progress after winning every boss fight. (Mini-bosses don't count, and it's also obvious that Stage 6 will lead to an ending rather than progressing on.)

Story:
A radiating light shines brightly from the forest south of the Youkai Mountain. Reimu thought of checking it out but decided to request Marisa for help to see what's going on. As they head to the place where the source of the light came from, they encounter many strange things...

Playable Characters (as of in version 0.8):
Reimu - The shrine maiden in the red-white. She is lazy most of the time and will be curious at other times about strange events that occur in Gensokyo. A well-balanced party member.
Marisa - The oriental western magician in the yellow. She lives in a house in the Forest of Magic and does research most of the time. If she sees something unknown, she'll take it with her back to the house for investigation. An offensive spell caster.
Patchouli - The purple librarian of Voile, hidden in the depths of the Scralet Devil Mansion. It's still a mystery of what she actually does in her daily life. (Well, except for Aya...) An elemental spell caster.
TEDDEE (simply pronounced Teddy) - A cute teddy bear possessed by a badass spirit that swears a lot. A powerful fighter. (He attacks enemies without your command.)
Cloud Strife - Born in Nibelhelm and was poisoned with Meko cells. How he ended up here is a mystery. Another powerful fighter. (His Attack is better than Spells, basically because of his high critical ratio)

Sakuya - The maid of the Scralet Devil Mansion. Very loyal to the Scarlet Sisters. Also keeps knives in her spare pockets so watch out. Yet another offensive spell caster, but with a support spell card.
Avnas - Unknown bio and details. Unknown contribution to party. (Attacking is her main offense, her Skills are mostly supportive rather than offense, also allows double-weapon equip)

Battle System:
This uses the default RPG Maker VX battle system. Don't know what that is?
If no, just watch the video I posted above. It's that easy.

Progress:
Version 0.8 is the latest one, with a total of three chapters to complete. For the moment it's on hold. I might continue if I receive enough feedback though. You can download this game from my MediaFire account. You can also find the links from the description of the video I linked to before.

All feedback, suggestions, and criticism welcome. Also, you have lost 4 points of IQ reading this sentence.

Last Words:
This game can literally own you if you're not careful, especially in Chapter 2 onwards. It can take a few tries to get it right. Well, this is Touhou after all.

You can find some screenshots of the game here.

First Post

Hello there. Welcome to my blog. I decided to create one since others already has one and it's way better than posting in YouTube whenever I have some updates to share.

Here you can expect a few updates every month or two so be sure to check once every week to know what's going on.
